What Will It Cover?
The purpose of the Arts and Culture working group is to propose changes to the regulations that would ensure that arts are equitably available to all residents of the city and that affordable space is available in the city for arts production, display, sale, rehearsal, performance, etc. To do this we will look at guidance from the Plan, guidance from and lessons learned from the existing zoning regulations, and best practices from around the U.S.The Arts & Culture Working Group portion of the Zoning update process has concluded.

Moving Forward
The final recommendations were heard by the Zoning Commission at a Public Hearing held on September 18, 2008. The Zoning Commission provided informal guidance on the Arts & Culture recommendations to the Office of Planning on October 20, 2008. This informal guidance is located below in the documents section.
